Best Shawarma in Lagos: Five Spots and What a Wrap Costs

A toasted shawarma wrap cut open to show beef, peppers and sauce, lying on paper beside an open flatbread with lettuce, chips and a tomato

Five spots, two sides of the bridge, and the sausage question nobody else will price for you.

If you just want names, here they are: Norma in Lekki and Victoria Island, Farm City on Admiralty Way and in Ogudu, Item 7(Go) on Allen Avenue, the stand outside Addas Mall in Agidingbi, and MB Shawarma in Akowonjo. Where each sits and what a wrap cost when somebody last wrote it down are below, so you can pick by area or by budget.

Before the list, a word on how shawarma is priced in Lagos, because it is not priced like food. It is priced like a car with optional extras. The base model is chicken or beef in a toasted wrap. Then come the trims: one sausage or two, cheese, mixed meat, "no cabbage", extra pepper. Every one moves the number, which is why two people can call the same shop cheap and daylight robbery and both be right.

Five Shawarma Spots in Lagos Worth the Traffic

  1. Norma, Lekki, Victoria Island and Ikeja. The one people name first on the Island, with a branch at Posh Plaza on Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1, another on Adeola Odeku in Victoria Island, and more in Ikeja and Magodo. Its party trick is suya shawarma, where the meat gets the yaji treatment before it is wrapped, and several branches stay open round the clock, which matters more at 2am than any review ever will.
  2. Farm City, Lekki and Ogudu. On Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1 and on Ogudu Road on the mainland, open from 8am to midnight. The menu runs from a mini chicken wrap for when you are being reasonable to a loaded sausage version for when you are not, and the internet found it before most of Lagos did.
  3. Item 7(Go), Allen Avenue, Ikeja. A takeaway kitchen that opened in April 2025, better known for rice and fish plates that taste like home. The shawarma is the budget pick on this list: beef, chicken or mixed, generous for the money, and handy if you are already in Ikeja.
  4. The shawarma stand outside Addas Mall, Agidingbi. On Hakeem Balogun Street, opposite Cadbury, just outside the mall itself. This is the portion pick. The wraps are big enough to be lunch and dinner if you have any self-control, at a price that is friendly by Ikeja standards.
  5. MB Shawarma, Akowonjo. Plot 1, Olufemi Ojo Street, Shasha. A tiny grab-and-go shop with no seats and a queue at night, which in this business is the only review that counts. The chicken is the order, and the kitchen is clean and careful about it, which you will appreciate if you have ever watched one assembled at a junction.

What a Shawarma Costs in Lagos

As at June last year, a beef shawarma at Item 7(Go) was ₦3,300 and a mixed one ₦3,900. The Addas Mall stand did a single-sausage wrap for ₦3,500 and a double for ₦4,000. Farm City ran from ₦3,800 for the mini chicken to ₦7,000 for its full sausage shawarma, and Norma's suya shawarma was ₦6,000, ₦8,000 if you wanted ram. MB Shawarma's mixed chicken and bacon was ₦4,000 at the end of 2023, so treat that one as history.

Lagos prices do not sit still for seventeen months, so read those as the shape of the market, not tonight's bill. The pattern holds, though: mainland stands near the bottom, Island kitchens near the top, and the sausage count doing more to your bill than the postcode. A second sausage is how a ₦3,500 wrap becomes a ₦5,000 one without you noticing at the counter.

If you are holding Dollars or stablecoins, the USD to Naira and USDT to Naira pages carry today's rate, which beats guessing what ₦4,000 is in your money while the man behind the counter asks "pepper?" for the second time.

Paying for It Without the Mental Sums

Every spot here is paid in Naira, and nearly all of them will take a transfer. If your money is sitting in Dollars or crypto, you do not have to convert it first and then pay. On Mular you pay the shop's account straight from your USD or crypto balance, and Naira lands with them like any other transfer. Nobody at the counter needs to hear the word stablecoin.

And if you swear you will track how many shawarmas December cost you, Mular has already kept the receipts: every payment sits in your history with the date, the amount and the rate, so January's reckoning is a scroll, not a guess.

One spot goes further still: Shawama Grill takes crypto at its own checkout through Pay with Mular, so you can scan and pay there directly.

The Best Shawarma in Lagos Is the One Near Your House

I'm not saying these five beat the stand at the end of your street. They might not. That one knows you want two sausages and no cabbage before you open your mouth, and loyalty like that never makes a list. Five spots is a starting point for a Friday, not a ruling, and arguing over who toasts the bread properly is half the fun.

Order the Extra Sausage, Skip the Arithmetic

Shawarma is the one meal in Lagos where you build your own bill one sausage at a time. Mular takes care of the part before that: Dollars or stablecoins in your pocket, Naira in the shop's account, and a history that remembers what it all cost. Download Mular before your next shawarma run.

As always, stay Jiggy.
Love, Mr Mular.

We put this list together from other people's evenings at the counter rather than our own, mostly because nobody would sign off five shawarmas as a work expense.
